SUMMARY:Wacky Water Works - Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Everyone come and join us for water filled fun! For this week please make sure your children are in clothes they won’t mind getting wet and shoes that are either sandals or waterproof. We will be completing fishing challenges\, paddle boarding at Q’emiln Park\, making indoor water slides\, water balloon baseball\, water sponge super soakers\, water relay cup challenges\, and much more! If anyone would like to volunteer please contact Miss Afton by email at lowerelementarydm@gmail.com so we can make arrangements. All children will be required to have a life jacket in order to attend the paddle boarding activity so please plan in advance. Thank you! \nSupplies Needed:\nChild and adolescent-sized life vests for paddle boarding\, weather permitting. \nIf weather permits\, we will go paddle boarding at Q’emiln Park. We do not have a date or time scheduled yet for this field trip\, but we will keep you updated when it is scheduled. Please let your child’s teacher know if you’re interested in volunteering for this field trip no later than Friday\, June 5th so that we are able to plan.

DESCRIPTION:This week we will be creating art out of items found in nature and be inspired by artists like Andy Goldsworthy\, Giuseppe Arcimboldo\, and Kathy Klein! We will start the week off learning about this unique approach to art and each day we will explore a different material or process to create works of art inspired by nature. The children will have a blast creating things that come from and integrate with the natural world around them. Summer hats are recommended for this week as we will spend a lot of time exploring and creating outdoors.

DESCRIPTION:Get ready for an energy charged week of music and dance! Children will be practicing the evolution of dance daily\, with a performance that parents are welcome to attend at the end of the week! In addition to this we will be making our own flags for doing flag dancing and ribbon dancing\, as well as a few other music and dance related activities! Children will need to wear close toed shoes for safety while dancing—and no high heels please! There are a few things needed for this camp\, so if you are able to contribute please see the list below. \nSupplies Needed:\n2-3 foot long wooden dowels for flag handles Sections of light weight\, silky or flowy fabric for flags Hot glue and hot glue guns
